In the master focus “Light and Colour”, in a first phase, the connections between form and colour in reality and in the model are analysed in existing room situations and with existing objects. The analyses are substantiated by the theoretical principles of light and colour planning. They are supplemented by phenomenological methods of description and representation as well as the specification of the dependencies of light and colour in diagrams.
For light and colour design, the fundamentals lie, on the one hand, in psychological and biological insights and knowledge of technical developments and, on the other hand, in an understanding of historical, sociological and cultural conditions that influence architecture and its use.
In a second part of the training, complex tasks are worked on and plans are created by teaching the methods of qualitative and quantitative light and colour planning with analogue and digital media in different scales and degrees of realisation.
